A Pot of Grits
My mother-in-law came to visit one day
She wanted some grits for breakfast to start her way
Well, I burned the grits and had to start over
Put on another pot but did not tell her the story
It was hard to clean the bottom of that pot
You see it was black and hard in many of the spots
The grits at the bottom was black and smelly
The grits on top was white and still creamy
This made me think of sin in the site of God
When we wallow in it, our lives are really hard
The burnt grits represented a non committed life
The white creamy part was God; a life without strife.
God does speak to us daily, we just fail to see the messages that are presented.
A Pot of Grits.

Things will happen but what will you do to fix problem the problem that is at hand? Will it be the right decision or a cover up?
